To Create a Characterization for a Shape or a Sheet

1. Click Add together Characterization on the Diagramming tab to add a label to a selected shape. Click Add Canvas Label to add a label to a sheet. The Create Label dialog box opens.

Labels for design sheets are not associated with a shape. A label displays the parameters of the sail on which they appear. Labels on a shape sheet display the parameters of the shape when it is instanced in a design. Click the Related Link beneath for more information on creating an automated characterization for a cobweb or highway shape.

2. Set whatever of the characterization Format options:

Blazon text in the box. To format a label on multiple lines, type ^north (CARET+N) to force the text to break to the next line.

The following characters cannot be used in a characterization unless preceded past a backward slash (\): <, {, [, and ^n. For example to include the string <label> in a label you must type \<label>.

Click <param>. The Parameter Selector dialog box opens. Cull the parameters to include in the label.

Click [fn(x)]. The Select a function dialog box opens. Cull the function names or Java part names to include in the label.

Click Special characters. The Special Characters dialog box opens. Choose a character or enter 1 in the box. Click Other to add your own special grapheme.

3. Set Graphic Backdrop for the characterization text:

Click to change the Font. The Font Style Pick dialog box opens. Choose a font from the list and click OK.

Click to modify the text Type. The Select text type dialog box opens. Cull a type from the list and click OK.

Unadorned—Places a label with no added graphics.

with + Datum—Places a characterization with a + drawn at the text anchor betoken.

with Circle—Places a label with a circle surrounding the text.

with Diamond Datum—Places a label with a diamond at the text anchor point.

with Rectangle—Places text with a rectangle surrounding the text.

with Rounded box—Places a label with a rounded box surrounding the text.

with Underline—Places a label with underlined text.

with X Datum—Places a label with an 10 at the text anchor betoken.

Set the Layer on which to identify the label.

Fix the text Height.

Set the Bending for the text orientation on the sheet.

Click the Constrained cheque box to maintain the angle specified for label orientation relative to the sail.

Click the color push to select a text color. The Select a Color dialog box opens. Select the color and click OK or click Edit to create a custom color in the Define Color dialog box.

You can utilize the Properties tab to set and edit graphic properties for a label.

four. Set text placement. Employ the crosshairs to identify the label. Select the position of the crosshairs in relation to the text from the filigree of Justification icons.

5. Click the canvass to place the label.

vi. Click Restart and select a new shape to identify some other instance of the same label.

7. Click Employ to temporarily store the default text. Click Reset to delete stored text.

eight. Click OK to apply the changes or Cancel to close the dialog box.
